Arachis batizocoi Krapov. & W.C.Greg. is a wild peanut relative native to Bolivia and Paraguay. It is historically important in complex hybridization schemes between wild species and cultivated peanut (A. hypogaea). It continues to be valued for its ease of hybridization and is important as a potential source of disease resistance traits for peanut. Although diploid Arachis plants tend to have smaller leaves than cultivated peanut, the leaves of A. batizocoi are larger than cultivated peanut. A. batizocoi is diploid species in the "K-genome" group of Arachis, which has similarity to the B genome of tetraploid cultivated peanut.
